Meg joined the Student Life staff in July of 2004 to serve as the Assistant Director for Residence Life. In that capacity, she has primary responsibilities in community development, educational and social programming, advising the Residence Hall Council, and working with the Resident Assistant staff.
Meg is originally from Owensboro, Kentucky, and graduated from Centre College in Kentucky and completed her master’s degree in College Student Personnel at the University of Louisville. Prior to working at APU, Meg served as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Louisville and spent four summers serving as a co-director of residential living for the Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program. Meg credits her undergraduate experience as a Resident Assistant and student leader for bringing her into the professional world of student affairs, and her favorite aspect of working at APU continues to be the close-knit community that exists among the students, staff and faculty.
"If I could offer students one piece of advice, it would be to get involved on campus and to continue meeting new and different people. Take every part of your college experience as a part of your education--see what you learn from the late night conversations with your roommate, push yourself beyond your comfort zone to try new and different experiences, and don’t be afraid to be the change that you want to see happen. You will get out of your experience what you put into it!"
