![]() Portfolio DevelopmentCriteria For Evaluating The SkillsThe SkillsTo Communicate Effectively in Speech Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of effective oral communication in various contexts, and provide evidence of success in public speaking and interpersonal and group situations. To Communicate Effectively in Writing Demonstrate a level of writing competency on argumentative and researched writing that is rated as falling within the top half of the scoring rubric; examples of writing from the major area should document familiarity with the codes and conventions of that academic community. To Analyze Qualitatively Demonstrate principles of logical deductive and inferential reasoning; demonstrate ability to think critically, formulate and solve problems, take apart and construct arguments. To Analyze Quantitatively Demonstrate an understanding of principles and operations that govern the level of mathematices required by the major. To Be Computer Literate Demonstrate a level of computing skills in using programs in word processing, spreadsheets, data bases, and electronic communications, as required by the major. To Organize and Carry Out a Project Provide evidence of being able to plan and carry through a project, including the ability to conduct an inquiry, do research, organize information for decision making, conduct systematic sequence of evaluation.
