Career Planning
- Personalized Counseling will help focus your career interests, values and needs.
- Career Assessments including Interest, Values Skills and Personality Inventories provide opportunities for self exploration. MBTI assessments available with analysis and one-on-one review.
- Resource Library offers information on majors, occupations, job search strategies, resume development, negotiations, decision-making. Books and videos.
Career Development
- Internships, practicum and service learning programs provide students opportunities to explore their career options with hands-on experience.
- Career Fairs are held at APU at least once a year, usually in early Spring. It is an opportunity to meet employers and investigate internship and career possibilities. Similar events in the community are publicized on campus.
- Resume Information and suggestions are provided in one-to-one sessions with a career Counselor, to enhance and improve the presentation of your skills, education and experience.
- Informational Interviews are an excellent way to investigate careers by talking to professionals and alumni in careers that interest you.
Placement & Opportunity
- Resume Critiques are provided to all students, alum, staff & faculty by the Director or experienced counselor.
- Job and Intern Bulletins for full time, part-time, summer employment are posted in Atwood Center, as well as Carr-Gottstein and Grant Hall.
- Interview Practice is offered by appointment through the Career Services Office. Video-taping is an option that may be requested
- Job Search Resources are available as handouts on topics such as Resumes, Interviewing, Cover Letters, Networking, Informational Interviews, Researching Companies
